Hello from St. Paul-

On January 24th we began the 2012 legislative session. We are off to a busy start, and I am looking forward to working hard and accomplishing positive reform for Minnesota. Because of our work last session, I am happy to say that we are beginning this session with a projected $876 million budget surplus – great news for Minnesota!

This session will be focused on making sure government runs efficiently and does not waste taxpayer money. Businesses need a more competitive tax climate to succeed and grow, and fewer government regulatory burdens to get our economy moving back in the right direction. We are planning to restore your confidence in the economy and encourage businesses to hire and expand in Minnesota.

Tomorrow, February 7th at 7:00pm are Minnesota’s precinct caucuses. I encourage you to attend your neighborhood caucus; its a great way to be involved with your government at the local level.

Not sure what precinct you are in? Visit http://pollfinder.sos.state.mn.us/ for your local precinct finder.

Have a great week!

John Kriesel
