Representative Denny McNamara
Hello from the State Capitol,
The Minnesota House of Representatives is back in session, and with only ten weeks to finish our legislative business we are wasting little time. All of our committees are up and running, and we are holding floor sessions two to three days a week.
As I’ve stated before, I expect our top three priorities this session to center on tax relief, a capital investment proposal that will fund needed construction projects across this state, and a long term transportation funding plan.
This week, Minnesota Senate leadership once again promoted its transportation funding plan that would raise taxes on Minnesotans. The House also approved a long-term funding proposal last session, but it does not raise any taxes. Instead, it utilizes existing funding from sales taxes on car parts, vehicle leases, and rentals, bonding, and a small portion of the budget surplus.
So what do you think? The road and bridge funding debate is one of several questions on my annual legislative survey, so click here to provide your feedback. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/9927M3G
As session moves forward, pleased contact me with any legislative questions you may have. I can be reached at rep.denny.mcnamara@house.mn, or by phone at 651-296-3135.
I also sat down for an interview recently with Minnesota House Public Information Services. To watch the video, please click here. https://youtu.be/Z-JOuiZTmnU
Keep in touch,
