GOCRA released its grades yesterday for candidates seeking Minnesota state offices–in time for today’s primary.

During election cycles, the Minnesota Gun Owners Civil Rights Alliance (GOCRA) questions candidates to learn their positions on issues of importance to gun owners. They then grade each candidate. They review the questionnaires and also consider the candidates’ public statements, past actions, and voting records. The grades are then posted online and made available to other state and national groups.

Senate District 54 candidate Janis Quinlan received an A-, a stalwart supporter of Minnesota gun owners and sportsman.

House District 54A canididate Derrick Lehrke — GOCRA did not receive his candidate questionnaire. Mr Lehrke has stated that he supports gun owners rights.

House District 54B candidate Denny McNamara received and A, leads the way for gun owners and sportsman in Minnesota.

Senator Katie Sieben, the district’s only DFL candidate to return the survey, received an F, hostile to sportsman and gun owner civil rights.
