Kurt Bills receives the Republican endorsement to run for U.S. Senate

Minnesota State Representative Kurt Bills secured the party’s endorsement on Friday at the 2012 Minnesota Republican State Convention in St. Cloud. Bills won the hotly contested battle on the second ballot in a 3 way race with former State Representative Dan “Doc” Severson and war veteran Pete Hegseth.

Republican Party of Minnesota Chairman Pat Shortridge and Deputy Chairwoman Kelly Fenton issued the following statement congratulating Kurt Bills on receiving the Republican endorsement to run for U.S. Senate against Senator Amy Klobuchar.

“Congratulations to Kurt Bills on receiving the Republican endorsement to run for US Senate. Minnesota conservatives are united behind Kurt and are willing to work hard on his behalf to ensure we send someone to Washington who is willing to make the tough decisions necessary to getting our country back on track.”

Kurt Bills currently represents district 37B (pre-redistricting) in the MN House. His district borders SD54. Bills lives in Rosemount with his wife and four children.
