Happy Holidays! Here are 4 things you can do to help

Fellow Republicans,

I wanted to send a note on behalf of the Senate District 54 BPOU to extend the warmest of Christmas holiday wishes, and good luck into the New Year!

2013 has been a challenging year for those of us who believe in life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. I am asking you to come together, help us strengthen the party, and take back our state and our country!

The first thing you can do is to attend our local BPOU meetings. They are held the first Tuesday of the month at Ruby Tuesday in Cottage Grove. If there is a change to the meeting time or location, I will have it noted on the website and an email distributed as soon as possible. Due to caucuses, we will not be meeting the first Tuesday in February. For our January 7th meeting, gubernatorial candidate Kurt Zellers will tell us why he wants to be governor of the State of MN!

The second thing you can do to help us strengthen the local Republican party is to attend caucuses on February 4th. An email notification, a posting on our website, and the Secretary of State’s website will contain the information for caucus locations.

The third thing you can do to help us strengthen the BPOU is let us know if you have an interest in running for political office. We are currently looking for potential candidates for the House District 54A seat. If you are interested, or you know someone who would make a great candidate, please email me and we can talk about it.

The fourth thing you could do to help us strengthen the BPOU is to donate to the Senate District 54 Republicans. On July 1st, 2013, the Minnesota PCR program was reinstated. This program allows you to donate $50 per individual/$100 per couple to the BPOU. The BPOU will then give you a receipt and you mail in the PCR form, and the state sends you a refund for the $50 individual/$100 couple donation to the BPOU. If you have ever completed your state tax return, and answered the question about which party fund you would like your money donated to, well this is a good way to make sure it stays local. Please consider donating to the Senate District 54 Repubican party. If you have questions about this program, please don’t hesitate to email me. Other fundraising events that we will be looking to hold in the near future are a Conceal Carry class, and a private screening of the upcoming movie “Lone Survivor”, based on the New York Times best seller authored by Navy Seal Marcus Luttrell.

I’ve listed four ways in which you can help strengthen your local Republican party. If you can do 1, 2, 3, or all 4 of these things, we would be grateful. There are other ways to help. As we enter 2014, we will be selecting candidates and moving forward. These candidates will need volunteers and will be looking for you to help in any way.

My commitment to you is that we will work hard to bring the party together. We will work to maintain communication and bring in guests and speakers to help keep us informed on the issues. We have had a governor candidate out, have another governor candidate scheduled for the January BPOU meeting, and hope to introduce the others so that you have the opportunity to hear from the candidates and ask them the tough questions on a more personal level. We are trying to do the same for the Republican US Senate candidates as well. We will be having local subject matter experts speak to you about issues like the Constitution, 2nd Amendment issues, DayCare unionization, and many other subjects. Please fight with us to keep Representative McNamara in House District 54B, and get behind our endorsed candidate for House District 54A. Come be part of the Growth and Opportunity Party!

God Bless You, Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year!

Thank you!
