FUNdraising: 60% of FUNDS is fun

Senate District 54 Republicans FUNdraising letterBy SD54 Republicans Chair Faye Hatch, 11/23/2015

Back in the day there was a comedy TV show about police officers. The show was called, “Car 54, where are you?” A modern version of that question is, “Conservatives of Senate District 54, where are you?”

Any leader will tell you that triumph is a result of putting a lot of UMPH behind one’s TRY and we all know from experience that “all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.” It also makes Jack less efficient at performing his assigned task. As the ever-wise teacher called experience reminds us, it is no fun to lose. Therefore, the GOP leaders of Senate District 54 want to strike a healthy balance between work and play. We are trying to build some fun into the candidate support being done. There is a dual purpose of this letter.

The first purpose is to ask your help in raising the FUN level in our political activities. It is an unfortunate reality that those who hold our positions have not fared well in the local elections but not because our positions are wrong. It appears many have grown weary in well-doing and no longer participate in the battle of ideas being fought at the ballot box. Many Americans fight for our freedoms through military activities. They don’t quit when the going gets tough. The rest of us must carry on the fight for freedom using the ballot box. Unfortunately, many who have been in this easier battle have quit. For those of you who have more time than money, we need your help!

If you have any ideas on how we can motivate the media-beaten, government-taxed, and life-wearied members of the grass roots to add their UMPH behind our TRY, we would love to hear from you. It is a time-tested truth that many hands make light work. What can be done to motivate John Doe and/or Jane Doe to get into the fight, and to stay in the fight? We need your ideas to encourage people to become engaged and enjoy participating.

The second purpose of this letter is to raise the FUNds level of our political activities. While some people have more time than money, others have more money than time. How can we help them to see the importance of financing the efforts being done by other members of the team? It is rare when a championship is won by just the starters. As in other wars, World War II was not won without the supplies being produced by the average Joes and Janes back in the United States. If you have any fund-raising skills, ideas, or contribution (in lieu of time) we would love to hear from you.

Thank you, for taking the time to read this letter. We hope to hear from you very soon.

On behalf of Senate District 54,

Faye Hatch
Senate District 54 Chairperson
