Jason Lewis Candidate for U.S. Congress

Jason Lewis
Candidate for U.S. Congress

By Jason Lewis

As you prepare to cast a ballot in tomorrow’s primary election, I want to ask for your support one more time.

The stakes are too high for anything but straight talk–so let me explain why I’m best prepared to defeat radical Angie Craig in the fall and actually change the political culture of Washington DC.

No doubt you’ve seen the endless personal attacks and distortions leveled against our campaign from big government, establishment candidates who have nothing new to offer. Anyone can take words out of context or twist a phrase for mere political expediency–but as one voter recently told me, “That’s not the Jason Lewis I’ve listened to over the last two decades.”

Indeed, many of us together have talked for years about the kind of change needed to fix our country.

The kind of change that grows an economy with good paying jobs, stops skyrocketing spending and debt, and controls our borders once and for all. The kind of change that reveres limited, constitutional government and returns power back to the states where folks can live under the laws they create. Including laws to protect the unborn.

Friends, I am the leader you know and the candidate who can win.

No one owns the 2nd district except the people. There are no kingmakers; there is no aristocracy. So when the people speak, the professional politicians should listen. They should heed the will of the grassroots activists and not the special interests in Washington.

Through a hard fought effort over many months I was honored to receive the Republican Party endorsement in the 2nd district in May.

Sadly, Darlene Miller and John Howe–two establishment candidates who support tax hikes, stadium subsidies, more spending and even Common Core–have refused to abide by the endorsement and decided to run in the primary.

But if these candidates won’t listen to the wishes of the grassroots activists in the 2nd district now, just think what they would do if they ever got to Washington.

Darlene Miller even served on President Obama’s ‘Jobs Council,’ accepted federal stimulus funds, and participated in the Saudi-sponsored Clinton Global Initiative.

In fact, it’s fair to say what I fear most about my opponents in this Republican primary is not that they just aren’t electable–it’s that they wouldn’t make any difference if they were.

We need a strong candidate who is ready, willing and able to expose Angie Craig and Minnesota Democrats for what they are–extreme fiscal and social ideologues bent on hijacking the 2nd District. Angie Craig – and to some extent our “Republican In Name Only” candidates like Darlene Miller and John Howe, will be a continuation and expansion of the Obama years…more spending, more debt, much higher taxes, and more big brother, federal government regulation in health care, energy, and commerce.

We have before us a remarkable opportunity to–as Thomas Paine put it–’begin the world over again.’ We are hungry for authentic change, just as we were in 1980 when the Reagan Revolution swept the nation.

I can promise you this: I’ll stand our ground; I won’t back down in fighting for us; and I’ll always do my absolute best to represent our shared interests in the 2nd district, Minnesota and the United States of America.

I graciously ask for your vote tomorrow. Thank you.

By Lloyd Cheney (8/2/16)

I wholeheartedly endorse Jason Lewis for Congress, and if you believe that this nation needs to return to a policy of what President Ronald Reagan called “Peace Through Strength” you should support him too. Vote for Jason Lewis in the primary election on August 9 as well as in the general election on November 8.

You should join me in support for Jason if you believe:

  • We have to stop giving money to countries that wish us harm with their sponsored terrorism.
  • Rebuilding our military means giving our Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines what they really need to face threats of the 21st Century rather than feeding what President Eisenhower called the “Military Industrial Complex”.
  • It’s time to protect and secure our own borders and stop the influx of refugees which are infused with ISIS members. It’s also time to secure our borders from drugs, criminals and unlawful immigration.
  • Washington cannot continue the fiscal irresponsibility of borrowing nearly .50 cents on every dollar government spends. It’s past time to cut spending and put government on a diet.
  • The Second Amendment is the vanguard of the US Constitution. It gives the People the right to defend those “inalienable rights” which are codified into law via the Constitution.

Jason Lewis is the true Republican and Conservative in this race, which was confirmed when he won the grass roots Republican Party endorsement at our district convention. Jason is the only one who will take Progressive Angie Craig to task and expose her for what she really is – just another big government, anti-liberty leftist, whose views are antithetical to those of vast majority of citizens in CD2.

Join me in support by contributing, volunteering, and voting for Jason Lewis – The Leader We Know.
